Screenshots

I've started paying attention to all those silly things computers tell you through error messages, banner ads etc. These are the silliest, funniest or weirdest screenshots I've found:

In English:

CBT Systems has a computer based training course to help pass the MCSD exam. During the course, small tests can be taken. This is what happens when a resultfile becomes corrupt - strangely enough, it was the "error handling" part of the course that screwed up (quite irritating, as I actually did get about 90% in that one...).

QARun is a rather nice program, which does its job very well - but it seems as if they aren't quite sure of how to spell licen[cs]e?

My Recycle Bin at work. Notice how many objects I've got, and the amount of space they use on the harddisk. Maybe I should copy those objects?

I usually like the Office Assistants quite a lot, but the tips they provide are sometimes rather silly - well, I guess this one's true.

Here's another one. Very true. This is particularly fun for me, because one morning, the secretary at work was a bit too fast with her scissors and managed to scratch herself. 5 minutes later, I booted my PC, and Tip of the Day in Word 2000 was this one! Coincidence - or is Office 2000 getting a bit too intelligent?

In Danish:

This is a banner ad; the text in the dialog box is supposed to be in Danish. Considering their poor grammar, would you trust your sustem to an UPS from this company? (I actually do, but that's a different story).

This is from Computerworld Online and shows the result of an online poll. Notice how the two 50%-bars aren't of the same length!

I know "Pels" is the short version of "Pixels" but for Danes, it's rather funny, Pels meaning Fur.

If you read Danish, I recommend you to pay www.guld.dk a visit! It's a huge collection of support stories (most of them much worse than these) from supporters from all over Denmark!
