My Rabbits

From I was 10 till I was 18, I had house rabbits. They're still among my favourite animals. Rabbits can be very different... some are lazy, some are energetic, some are extremely stupid and some are pretty intelligent (compared the size of their brain, of course); some are social animals like dogs and others are independent like cats. Most are cute!

Bonnie

This is Bonnie, my first rabbit. I got him for my 10th birthday after having asking my parents for a rabbit for about half a year or so...
Those were the times when an "anti red-eye" function was not common in cameras.

Kløver

I don't have any pictures of Kløver (Clower), my 2nd rabbit. Kløver was a very beautiful rabbit with shiny black fur. Unfortunately, he was insane. A colleague of my father got him for his birthday from some "friends". Those friends knew that this colleague enjoed cooking, so they decided to give him a cooking pot and a rabbit(!) The friends didn't really use their brains, so they bought this live young rabbit, put it in the pot and wrapped it up as a present, with the result that Kløver didn't get enough oxygen for some time, damaging his brain. The colleague got the rabbit and since he hadn't asked for a live rabbit, he asked his colleagues if anybody wanted a rabbit, because he didn't know what to do with it. My dad took it home to me, but because of the brain damage, Kløver was insanely aggressive, and we had to give up after some months and vetenarian consultations.

Hovsa

This is Hovsa (meaning "Oops!"), my first Dwarf Lop rabbit. Hovsa was very "random" in everything he did, hence the name; a very happy little jumpy bunny who loved to be with humans.

Candy

Candy was about 1 year old, when I got him. A gentle, calm little rabbit, which enjoyed exploring our garden, but not the bundle of energy as the others.

Fancy

Here's Fancy - maybe the prettiest rabbit I've had - a shiny Blue and White rabbit.

Othello

Othello was only 6 weeks old when I got him and not much larger than a box of 3½" diskettes. Getting a young rabbit at the start of long summer holidays when you can play with it all day long gives a very tame bunny! Othello learnt to come when we called, he enjoyed our garden and slept in the sofa when we watched TV. On the last picture, he's a year or so - and enjoyed everything that a bunny could crawl into, such as a trash can or similar...
