Welcome to my humble homepage! You have now entered the NerdBird's Nest... located high above the ground in a tall, tall binary tree with an excellent view to the vast Cyberspace! The NerdBird is a little blue bird with big glasses - it's a bit clumsy, but it loves the Internet. And if you ask it, it'll probably say that it's both adorable and friendly and it's definitely an active bird (ActiveBird?). Like magpies in real life, it has a tendency to collect weird and shiny stuff and bring it home to the nest. Though, it's a bit more orderly than the magpie, as the NerdBird knows about directories and such. So take a look in the nest and see what it has found for you!
What is NerdBird's Nest?Well, first of all it's a private, personal homepage which is made for fun and not for profit. It's located in Denmark and is a .dk-domain, but attracts visitors from all over the globe, and most of the content is not country-specific. What can you find here? Well, you won't find any X-rated pictures, hints for Linux, MP3's or warez (I wonder how many search engines will be messing with this sentence) - if you came here with that purpose, I'm sorry, because you've been misguided. You've ended up at a site belonging to a 32-year old female Danish computer nerd & Windows freak with certain interests in Microsoft Agents & Office Assistants, Nerdity, Logic riddles, graphics and a few non-nerdy things such as cooking. You're looking at version 4-dot-something. Version 4 was released in January 1998 when I started using this domain, and I've been fiddling with details ever since. I've got lots of ideas for redesigns and no time to implement them, so I guess this design will live on and on and on... The site has been designed with Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 (yes, the basic layout is that old) or later in mind, but apart from the ActiveX game, the JavaScript photo album and the two navigation JavaScript NerdBirds, all pages should be viewable with most graphical browsers, though I'll recommend you use a hi-res, many-colours, full-screen modern browser. You won't find any fancy Java applets or Shockwave thingies or whatever, as I have not found any use for such here. I don't like adding bells and whistles, if the only consequences of them are increased noise and a terrible headache. I like getting relevant mail, so if you have any comments or questions, you can contact me. |
